First of the autumn Critical Mass rides and there was a definite chill in the air. For the first time, I’d brought the family along with me to experience a joys of riding round the city centre en masse.

We set off as the sun was still shining, heading through Albert Square, Bridge Street and into Salford. We headed back into Manchester along Deansgate, through the tram works on Princess Street and headed towards Piccadilly.

We were momentary paused to let a police car through, then headed into the Northern Quarter as the sky began to darken. A quick run down Shudehill, past the Corn Exchange and the Cathedral and back on to a very congested Deansgate.

Once we reached the other end of Deansgate, we split from the ride as it headed for Castlefield and we headed home to get the kids to bed.

All in all, a fun ride, on a lovely evening. The kids really enjoyed it, but were glad to get home and into bed!
