Netherlands 17: The route to Wassenaarse Slag

2017 saw us back in Duinrell for what was our seventh visit. I’ve covered Wassenaarse Slag previously in a post from 2015, though that was the route from The Hague. This time we were heading there from Duinrell, with five families in total, and with seven adults and six kids getting there on bikes. Netherlands 17: Around Amsterdamsestraatweg

For our week in Utrecht, we stayed at an apartment in Zuilen, which is about 2.5km to the north west of the city centre. Netherlands 17: The route to De Haar Castle

On our final full day in Utrecht, we decided on a trip to De Haar Castle, taking quite a roundabout route via Gunterstein castle. Netherlands 17: Cycle parking in Utrecht

In recent years, much has been said about the cycle parking in Utrecht. Particularly the guidance system and the new indoor parking at Utrecht Centraal. So I was looking forward to trying out the parking facilities while we were staying in the city. Continue reading “Netherlands 17: Cycle parking in Utrecht”

Duinrell, a family and cycling friendly holiday park in The Netherlands

We’ve been going to Duinrell now for quite a few years, since our first visit back in 2012. We have been to The Netherlands on a number of occasions previously, mostly in and around Amsterdam. We came across Duinrell while looking for places to go, we’d previously had a day trip to The Hague and it looked like a nice place to spend a bit more time, so we decided to give it a go.
